Wisconsin Residential Heating and Insulation
Insulating homes properly is an important part of improving the overall energy efficiency of our homes. This 1-hour course will help us better understand why insulation is needed and how insulation works. 1 hour continuing education.
Learning Objectives:
1-Understand heat transfer
2-Discuss the thermal performance of varies insulation types
3-Identify building code requirements for insulation
4-Recall best practices for installing insulation

During WI Energy Codes Collaborative sessions, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of new resources and trainings that address code compliance issues, learn about the code adoption process and ways to advance building energy codes, and share your experiences and goals for energy codes in Wisconsin.

Wisconsin Residential HVAC Equipment Sizing, Man J, S, & D
This 1 1/2-hour course will discuss the ACCA design process, Manual J load calculation process & modeling, which is the first step in sizing equipment properly, Manual S over-sizing provisions, available software tools to carry out Manual S calculations, and ends with a case study demonstrating how the Manual J and Manual S process works. 1 hour continuing education.
Learning Objectives:
1-Provide background on the Air Conditioning Contracts of America (ACCA)
2- Discuss the purpose and use of ACCA Manual D
3- Discuss the purpose and use of ACCA Manual J
4- Discuss the purpose and use of ACCA Manual S
Wisconsin Multi-Family Construction and the Energy Code
This 1-hour course reviews the building science and building code requirements as they pertain to proper air sealing of multi-family buildings. It highlights the common areas of air leakage within a structure and how to mitigate or minimize air leakage. This course will also compare the WI UDC and WI IECC 2015 Commercial Energy codes as they pertain to multi-family construction.
Learning Objectives:
1 - Define the scope of the residential versus commercial provisions of the WI UDC and 2015 IECC Commerical Energy Code regarding multifamily buildings
2 - Identify and eliminate the biggest sources of air leakage in multifamily buildings
3 - Describe various, important air sealing design and construction details
4 - Determine the Energy Code’s requirements for air barrier construction and testing
